Status of XYRocks!

Well, I just thought I would give everyone an update to the status of XYRocks and the Digital Radio Show (podcast). Lately I've been unable to post a new show so I figured I would give everyone an update on XYRocks! The past few months I've been finishing up my degree. Fall of 2009 was my last semester of college (last two classes) and I did not want to fuck up in the last semester. Therefore, I chose to focus on my education and take a break from the show. It paid off because I can now say I'm done with school if I want to be!!! I've achieved my goal. That being said, I now have a few choices: 1) Work during the day and focus on bringing the full XYRocks plan to fruition 2) Work and attend more college 3) Work and focus on my career - no more school. I'm having a hard time giving up on my dream and just continuing my career. I think it's total bullshit that four (4) major labels are controlling what we listen to in the United States. Why is that? It doesn't have to be any longer. Digital Entertainment is the future - PERIOD! CD's will be soon be gone just like Beta Max and VHS. The playing field is opening up and four (4) major labels will no longer be able to control the majority of the market. It's much cheaper and easier to produce an album digitally. With Digital Media an Artist can actually create, record, and distribute their music all on their own. No need for a label. Only problem? We need to change the consumers mind set. Consumers need to know that nobody wants to work for free! People have to eat! If musicians don't get paid then music will cease to exist. Think about it. Musicians must have some big ass balls to choose this career full of risk with very few actually being rewarded. The odds are against them. We don't need to have the fans against the bands also. QUIT BEING A DICK, QUIT STEALING MUSIC, AND REALIZE THAT BY STEALING MUSIC - - YOU ARE CAUSING THE NEXT GREAT BAND NOT TO SURVIVE. NO MATTER HOW MUCH EASIER IT IS FOR THEM TO GET THEIR MUSIC HEARD!!! I believe that if we come together, we can change things. We can change the future. Hell, we can help create the future! XYRocks isn't gone. I can't give up when I know I can help change things. Together, we can change things! I will put out shows when I can so subscribe to XYRocks in iTunes and you'll get every new show. Remember, our generations can change things if we come together. My Mac woke up!

Well, I'm not sure what happened but, my Mac woke up. That is freakin' awesome! I'm currently copying all of my songs from my Mac to my Dell just in case I need a backup. I wasn't prepaired for my Mac to crash before. This way I at least have my songs on two computers. Since my Mac is back up and my Dell is still kicking, I will be putting a show together. I should have it up by Monday April 13th.

My Toshiba Laptop is pissing me off!

Well, I'm still down one Laptop. I'm having power issues with my Toshiba. I thought it was the battery and bought a new one but, that didn't fix the problem. Called Toshiba tech support and they said it was the AC adapter. Bought a new AC adapter and that didn't fix the problem. Called Toshiba tech support back and they said it was because I bought a universal AC adapter. They told me to take it to Best Buy (Geek Squad) and have them look at it. They said it would be $450.00 just to send it in to them. Went to Best Buy and they said - NO, it's not the AC adapter. It's either the mother board or the damn AC plug on the laptop. It's about $230 bucks to fix the AC plug but, I won't even know if that is the problem or not until I spend the damn money. That sucks ass!!! This Toshiba is still in very new condition. I only used it to record XYRocks. Fucking piece of shit!!! I thought Toshiba was supposed to make good computers. I'm now used to my Macbook pro (which I use every day) and am now wishing I would have bought either a Dell or a Mac. Needless to say, I still can't publish any new shows until I get a second laptop. Well, I went to record a show this weekend but, one of my laptops is down (bad power supply). That sucks! I am sorry to say it's going to be a little while longer before I can get back into the groove. Once my laptop has been repaired, I will post a new show. I believe I have my college schedule down and know how to get all my studying done and still fit the show in. XYRocks! Season One Band Of The Year: Better Than Toast

March 26th 2008 marked the one year anniversary of XYRocks Podcast. This being said, I decided I would pick a Season One Band Of The Year.

Over the past year, I have listened to hundreds of bands while trying to put together XYRocks! Out of all the bands I played on the show, Better Than Toast's album "Get Down" made it into my truck and has yet to be replaced by any other CD. Since I don't listen to the radio or my iPod when I'm driving, I just crank up Better Than Toast. I figure that's worthy of my pick as XYRocks! Season One Band Of The Year

I haven't had a band grab my attention like this since Blink-182. Check them out and buy there album - "Get Down". Every song kicks ass!!!

I'm having problems with this fucking Mac again. Thanks Steve! You shipped this Piece Of Shit to me sucking from the git go. Sure I could have taken the damn thing in for repair from the start but, if you spend over $2,000 on a laptop you expect the fucking thing to work out of the box. Anyway, my Toshiba is clicking right along. I just need to add more memory so I can run all of the programs necessary to record XYRocks. You can thank Bill's ass for that one. Thanks for Vista that thing sucks worse than XP. At least you were finally working out the bugs in XP and it was a decent product. Vista sucks ass and eats up memory. I've got to hand it to Bill though, at least his system works! Thanks Toshiba for an awesome product. I have to apologize for the delay. 1 - The New Rock Chemists are not the first UK listeners, they are the first UK myspace friend for XYRocks.

2 - The $25.00 offer is only for the "FIRST" person to call XYRocks at 206-600-4997 which leaves a message - NOT ANYONE THAT HAS A PAYPAL ACCOUNT! I just wanted to be sure to clarify this. I layed this out in XYRocks-003. Just don't want any misunderstandings.

3 - Better Than Toast can be found at myspace.com/bttmusic. During the show I left out the forward slash. Clarifying because I don't want people writing me saying something about it.
